After all, if you are inviting this person into your home, you need to know who they are and what they have done. If she is going to be driving during her job (like taking your kids places), you are going to need to see if she has a bad driving record. You may also be interested to see what kind of education your nanny has had as well. Sometimes people lie on their applications, and it's a good idea to get these out in the open. After all, if they are willing to lie to you on an application, they are probably not going to have a problem lying to your face. Another thing that you should always do is check your nanny's references, like other people she has worked for. This way you can get a better idea of what kind of work she really does when she is on the job.

Looking up this information on your nanny is perfectly legit when employment is going to be involved. However, it is required that you get your nanny's (or soon to be nanny's) written approval first. Thanks to the internet, a lot of different sites offer you the options of doing an electronic signature that spares you and the nanny the time of trying to get a hand written signature and waiting for the records to come in the mail. Doing these kinds of checks online is probably the best idea. After all, if you are hiring a nanny that may mean that you need someone that can start right away. However, blowing off these kinds of checks is not a good idea. Now, thanks to the internet, you no longer have to blow it off. Technology is now moving at the speed of light to help keep pace with your busy lifestyle. Do not just brush these types of checks off as being unnecessary. If you do, you could be letting someone into your home that you do not want to be there.
